Heya guys! Today, I’m going to talk to you about my deepest, darkest secret (literally). I’ve never talked with anyone about this before, but I think it’s time. Are you ready?
My pores.
More specifically, my blackheads! Ever since I was a teenager, blackheads have popped up on my nose and chin and never left. I didn’t pay too much attention to them except for using the occasional Biore pore strip (inset painful flashbacks of ripping nose skin here). However, a few weeks ago I saw StyleSuzi’s Youtube video where she tried a My Scheming mask and it removed all her blackheads.
Wtf, that’s magic! I thought. And then I bought it on Amazon.
Anyway, enough talking. Let’s see how it stood up to my blackheads…
THE DETAILS
Full Name: MY SCHEMING Blackhead Acne Removal Activated Carbon 3 Steps Mask Set
Price: $11 on Amazon with free shipping (Prime) – International Shipping here
Made in: Taiwan
The mask set comes with three bottles and English/Chinese instructions.
The first serum is designed to open your pores so the blackheads can come to the surface. The second bottle (in black) has the actual mask, and the third bottle is another serum to close and tighten pores after the treatment.

BEFORE
Alright, get ready to cover your eyes or run off screaming. Here are the before photosAs you can see, my nose has larger pores and more blackheads compared to my chin. There are a few on the side of my nose as well, but the worst are the pores near the center. On my chin, most of my blackheads appear right below my lip.

DURING
Before I began the treatment, I cleaned my nose/chin with an exfoliator and steamed my face to open up the pores, but putting a hot towel on the skin also works.
The first step was to use the first tube, marked “Pore Sebum Softener.” Like I mentioned, it helps open up the pores and push up all the gunk to the top of the skin. When I first applied the serum, it felt like my skin was fizzing (in a good way!), similar to those fizzy candies from childhood.
I also noticed little white spots appearing on top of my skin, which I’m assuming is some of the junk that lived in my pores. After about 5 minutes, I washed off the serum and applied the actual mask named “Blackhead Removal Activated Carbon Mask.”
Ta dah! This was actually really fun to apply because I had never used a black or carbon mask before!
For best results, people suggest applying the product liberally so that it’ll stick better. There’s a lot of product in the kit, and I think it’s good for at least 7 to 10 times. After applying the mask, I waited for about 30 minutes for it to dry completely.
Here’s a photo of when it was almost ready to peel off. The mask sticks really well to my skin, and you can even see the outline of where my pores are! The best part is that there was (almost) no pain when I peeled it off.
AFTER
Are you ready to see the results?
Close up photos: chin on the top and nose on the bottom
In the photos, you can see that the mask took out a lot of smaller whiteheads (the little dots) and some bigger blackheads (near the side of my nose).
Here is what my nose and chin look like after the mask:
Nice and clear! The mask didn’t take 100% of my blackheads out, but I think it did a really good job of cleaning out my skin and reducing my pores. After peeling off the mask and washing my skin, I applied the third and final serum, which is supposed to tighten your pores and minimize them so less dirt gets inside in the future.

FINAL THOUGHTS
Overall, I thought the MyScheming mask was great- it was the first time I used a carbon mask, and it was really fun to peel off. Like I said, it didn’t remove all of my blackheads, but I think it cleared up a good amount! I also like how there’s a good amount of product in the kit, and I’ve already used it twice since I took these photos.
