Montenegro is quickly becoming a popular tourist destination thanks to its close proximity to its wildly popular neighbors (Croatia and Serbia), more than 70 km of beaches, temperate weather almost all year ‘round, and hundreds of things to do.

However, planning a trip to Montenegro isn’t without its challenges! When I was researching what to do in Montenegro, there wasn’t much practical and down-to-earth information out there — so I decided to create my own list of Montenegro travel tips and share them with you.

17 Tips for Traveling to Eastern Europe – The Best Eastern Europe Travel Tips (What to do — and NOT to do!)

Even though tourism has been gaining popularity in recent years, the majority of countries in Eastern Europe are still considered to be mostly undiscovered destinations.

Which is too bad, because there are so many cool things to do, see, and eat across this region! I’ve traveled extensively through most of the countries listed here and many of them, like Georgia and Hungary, have made it to my list of favorite countries.

Many people might hesitate to travel to Eastern Europe because they see it as an unknown land full of ~~bears with vodka playing the balalaika~~ hundreds of years of stormy history, with a language different from their own, all wrapped up into Soviet-style gray buildings.

For many travelers, the Maldives is an elusive destination that has so many stereotypes: it’s a hard to reach country only for the super-rich who can afford to stay in overwater villas – but that’s not true (at all)! There are so many misconceptions about the Maldives, and I want to set them straight.

I created this post about the best Maldives travel tips because there was such a lack of information when I was planning my trip. I wanted to make sure other travelers could feel comfortable before they visit the country.

You might be wondering, Why is there a lack of information? That’s because the Maldives is fairly new to tourism – it opened its doors for tourists in the 1970s by creating villa resorts, and regular guesthouses only became legal 10 years ago! Tourism simply hasn’t caught up to the level of other major island destinations, like Bali or the Dominican Republic, which means it’s the perfect time to visit.
